History: Named for Lookout Mountain on the border of Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee, the Southern Association’s Chattanooga Lookouts were led in 1955 by power-hitting outfielder Jim Lemon, who mashed 24 home runs during the ‘55 campaign. Lemon went on to star for the Washington Senators before the club moved to Minnesota in 1961 and was renamed the Twins.

History: Named for Tennessee's Lookout Mountain, the club played in the Southern Association going back to the turn of the century. The ‘39 Lookouts were led by Bill Swish Nicholson, who finished the campaign with a.334 batting average and 23 home runs. Nicholson would go on to make five All Star appearances while playing with the Chicago Cubs, twice leading the National League in both home runs and RBIs.
