History: The Occidentals of Salt Lake City were one of the top Black baseball outfits of the early 20 th Century. After defeating almost all comers in the Salt Lake area while playing in the Utah State League, the team sought fresh competition in Los Angeles. They faced a select all-Japanese-American squad in 1909, and sought to join the integrated California Winter League.
History: Tony Lazzeri smashed 60 homers for Salt lake in 1925. Teammate Lefty O'Doul led the league in hits. This wasn't enough to keep the club in salt lake City, however, and the Bees became the Hollywood Stars in 1926. Gorgeous manual embroidery on this shirt.
